The field is dominated by a striking vertical composition: a central "trunk" rises from a decorated vase at the bottom, branching into an elaborate display of stylised flowers, vines, and foliage. The rich rust-red background sets a dramatic stage for the floral motifs drawn in soft golds, deep blues, muted greens, and delicate ivory tones. The floral details show angular and curvilinear lines, combining Persian formal elegance with the rustic boldness characteristic of Heriz weaving.

Framing the central field is a wide, beautifully articulated border filled with rosettes, palmettes, scrolling vines, and smaller floral elements, all set against a golden ochre ground. Narrow guard borders with repeating floral meanders enclose the main border, adding precision and balance.

What makes this rug particularly rare is the clear garden or paradise symbolism expressed through the tree of life, a motif often seen in Kashan or Tabriz pieces but less common in Heriz. This points to either a special workshop commission or a fusion of design traditions.
