The rug features a striking elongated diamond-shaped medallion with pendants sharply outlined in rich reds set against a deep navy or black field densely filled with repeating boteh (paisley) motifs arranged in neat rhythmic rows. This repeating pattern gives the field a highly textured almost lace-like effect creating a balance between order and intricate detailing a hallmark of Farahan rugs.

The spandrels or corner sections are filled with beautifully drawn floral sprays more typical of Sarouk work, where soft vine blossoms and palmettes add a touch of fluidity and naturalism. The wide main border frames the piece with a meandering vine and rosette pattern in red ivory and deep blue tones, elegantly enclosing the highly patterned interior.
