Surrounding the medallion, the field is richly decorated with palmettes, rosettes, and stylised vines in soft tones of cream, peach, and blue, all precisely arranged in a formal layout. The corner spandrels mirror the medallion’s floral motifs, softening the transition from the dark field to the paler border.

The border itself is wide and richly layered. The main band features a sequence of floral cartouches and rosettes in terracotta and sky blue on a soft beige ground, framed by guard borders with delicate meandering floral vines.
