SIZE: 6.5 X 4.4 FT.
ORIGIN: TURKEY
CIRCA: 1980s
MATERIAL: PURE WOOL
This vintage Turkish Kazak rug features two large hexagonal medallions set against a deep blue field, each containing stylised rosettes in light blue, cream, and red tones with geometric “ram’s horn” motifs symbolising strength. The border is decorated with alternating eight-pointed stars in red and ivory, framed by narrow guard stripes that echo the medallions’ angular design. The colour palette of indigo, brick red, ivory, and sky blue is typical of naturally dyed Caucasian weavings, creating a bold yet balanced composition. Handwoven from wool, this rug reflects the traditional craftsmanship and symbolic artistry of the Kazak and Anatolian weaving regions, where geometry and colour harmonise to convey protection, harmony, and enduring beauty.
