This lovely vintage Afghan rug features a wonderfully earthy composition with three large geometric medallions arranged vertically across a warm rust and burnt terracotta field. The motifs are softly defined in muted charcoal, brown and faded grey, while small ivory accents in the central medallion create an unexpected and distinctive contrast. A broad border of repeating geometric forms surrounds the field, its details beautifully softened by years of natural wear. The heavily distressed pile, mellowed colours, and subtle irregularities give the rug a rich, timeworn patina and an authentic tribal character. Rustic, understated and full of personality, this distinctive vintage Afghan rug brings warmth, texture and a strong sense of history to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
