This vintage Persian Hamadan Kelleh rug showcases the bold geometric artistry and earthy warmth characteristic of the region's weaving tradition. Woven in an elongated format, it features two large, stepped diamond medallions in a sandy camel-brown field, each enclosing ivory panels adorned with stylised floral and leaf motifs in coral red and soft teal.
The surrounding field is animated by angular latch-hook outlines and scattered botanical accents. At the same time, the corners are shaded in deep indigo and charcoal tones with feather-like motifs, creating a striking contrast against the central design. A narrow red border frames the composition, filled with delicate rosettes and meandering vine work.
Crafted from hand-spun wool and dyed with natural pigments, the rug carries a rich, mellow patina developed over decades, adding depth and authenticity. Its balanced symmetry, earthy palette, and tribal elegance make it a timeless piece, equally suited for traditional interiors or as a rustic statement in a modern setting.
