Vintage Zapotec Cushion Cover 1'9" X 1'9"
SIZE: 21" x 21" INCH
ORIGIN: NATIVE AMERICA
CIRCA: 1980s
MATERIAL: PURE WOOL
This Native American-style kilim cushion cover features a bold and graphic design inspired by traditional Navajo weaving. The centrepiece is a large stepped cross or "eye dazzler" motif in deep navy, accented by outlines in teal and magenta, with a central ivory diamond symbol. Surrounding the central motif are simplified flower-like forms in peach and coral tones, set against a rich background of gradient reds, from rust to burgundy. Handwoven in wool using flatweave techniques, the cushion embodies the spirit of Southwestern textile art, characterised by its earthy, geometric, and visually striking aesthetic. It's a perfect accent for rustic, Western, or boho-inspired interiors.
