This antique Caucasus Bokhara rug is a striking example of the classic Bokhara style known for its repetitive gul (elephant foot) motifs and rich red ground. The central field is covered with rows of large oval-shaped guls arranged in precise alignment, each framed with secondary small diamond-shaped motifs filling the spaces between. The guls display intricate geometric details in shades of ivory, black, dark green, and soft orange, all outlined sharply for strong contrast against the vivid red background.

The border structure is made up of multiple frames. The main border features a continuous chain of diamond rosettes surrounded by narrow guard borders filled with tiny stepped or hooked motifs, adding layers of detail and rhythm. The top and bottom panels show a latticework or crosshatch design, often called elements, which traditionally appear on Turkoman and Bokhara rugs, adding an extra decorative flourish.

The rug's wool is fine and tightly knotted, giving it a soft lustre and durability typical of high-quality Caucasus Bokhara pieces. Likely woven in the mid 20th century, this rug reflects the blending of Central Asian Turkoman weaving traditions with Caucasian tribal aesthetics, making it both a decorative and collectable textile.
